Anticoagulation Clinic

The Holy Family Anticoagulation Clinic provides convenient care for patients taking warfarin (Coumadin®) and other anticoagulant therapy. Opened in September of 2000, Holy Family Hospital's Anticoagulation Clinic (ACC) has served the anticoagulation needs of the Spokane area medical community and their patients. Pharmacists with advanced training in anticoagulation management staff the clinic. Most health insurance covers all or part of laboratory testing and therapy management costs.

What services are provided?

  • Immediate fingerstick protime/INR test results at time of visit
  • Systematic monitoring, medication adjustment and patient evaluation
  • Individualized patient education
  • Private consultation with pharmacist at each visit
  • Communication with physician regarding the patient's care
  • Review medications for appropriateness and drug interactions
  • Anticoagulant (Coumadin®/Lovenox®/Fragmin®/Arixtra®) administration, evaluation and monitoring.
  • Home INR monitors for qualifying patients
  • Coordinate referral to the clinic through your physician
  • Free parking and easy access to clinic

What is an anticoagulant?

Anticoagulants are medications that control the blood's ability to clot and are prescribed to prevent or treat a harmful blood clot. Careful monitoring is needed to prevent bleeding or clotting complications.

Hours of Operation

Our clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM. The clinic is closed from noon to 1PM. We are closed all major holidays.
