In 2003, Holy Family Hospital opened a new 8,100 square foot Speech and Hearing
Center. The facility includes private treatment rooms, an audiology suite,
and state-of-the-art equipment. In addition to a director, manager, and
office staff, the center has an audiologist and 12 certified and licensed
speech-language pathologists available.

The Speech and Hearing Center provides evaluation and treatment for
a wide variety of communication and swallowing disorders in both adults
and children. There are many illnesses or conditions which effect articulation,
voice, language, hearing, swallowing, having a negative impact on one’s
ability to function adequately in daily life. Holy Family speech-language
pathologists and audiologist are trained to assess these disorders and
develop a plan of treatment for therapy to meet the needs of the client.

Hearing loss affects the health, wellness and quality of life of 1 out
of every 10 people and is the third most common health related problem
in America today. Misty Shores, AuD, audiologist in the Holy Family Speech
and Hearing Center, assists people of all ages with hearing loss so that
they can function independently, usstain social relationships and succeeed
in school and employment. Our licensed and certified audiologist provides
comprehensive hearing evaluations and dispenses a complete range of hearing
aids and assistive listening devices for children and adults, using state-of-the-art
equipment and technologies. Dr. Shores holds a doctoral degree in audiology
from the University of Florida, and a master of arts in audiology from
Louisiana Tech University.

8 am–6 pm, Monday through Friday for
outpatients. Inpatient services are staffed on the weekends and holidays
